Project: Motion is a non-profit contemporary dance collective specializing in modern dance –a uniquely American art form characterized by a spirit of exploration and creativity. The organization is devoted to the creation and presentation of innovative and well-crafted dance works that inspire, stimulate and engage audiences on an intellectual, emotional and physical level. Project: Motion fosters artistic collaborations and provides a forum for local dance artists to experiment, develop skills and hone artistic vision in a nurturing and challenging environment. The company functions as a catalyst for creative exchange, innovation and expression, while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for contemporary modern dance in the community.

Project: Motion, Memphis’ premier contemporary dance collective, presents Muscle Memory: Looking Back, Moving Forward May 16-18 and May 22-25 at TheatreWorks. The innovative dance collective celebrates its 20th anniversary with a dance performance that will include new and timeless dance works that reflect the company’s unique character, while drawing from its rich and vibrant history.

Opening Reception at Theatreworks Memphis

Friday MAY 16, 5-7p.m. ART EXHIBITION

Please save the date of May 16th (Friday) to join us for an opening reception of current artworks
from 5 - 7pm at Theatreworks, 2085 Monroe Avenue Memphis, Tennessee

This work is the result of an amazing opportunity to work with R. Salant and the Project Motion dancers under water.
The hand-worked archival compositions capture tension in a fluid state, evoking ghosts and mirrors, myths and dreams.
The artworks will be for sale with 50% of all profits donated to Project Motion.
